Voula - Artistic Director, Producer & Choreographer

Voula is the founder and Artistic Director of Voulas Dance Company & Academy and the director of three performing groups Tsiganes, Divas and Moramou. Voula is credited with many dance productions and is the founder of the first bellydancer exchange program between Canada and Greece. A disciplined professional with a seductively powerful technique and a dynamic personality, Voula has devoted her life to dance.

Voulas mother was a great influence for her studies in the art of Middle Eastern dance. Voulas mother was a member of the Mahmood Reda’s folk dance company, and with her influence she helped nurture and further develop Voulas knowledge and understanding of her culture. Voula received extensive training in Middle Eastern dance with Dr. Mahmood Mahammad Ghaffar in Alexandria, theatrical studies at the Dora Stratou Greek Dances Theater in Athens, and classical Ballet in Greece and Canada. Voula has choreographed and directed “Our Dancing Hearts”, “Mystique”, “Exotiq”, “Aphrodite”, "Casablanca", "Rhythmic Fire" and other productions. Voula is a member of Conseil International de la Danse – CID and OMEDA.

Her talents have taken her around the world to Argentina , Brazil , Europe, Canada , United States , Turkey , Greece and Egypt gaining recognition by the dance community worldwide and winning numerous awards for her dance productions and captivating choreography. In addition to appearing on a number of television programs Voula travels the world extensively teaching seminars and performing. With over thirty years of experience, Voula is world renown for her accomplishments as a director, producer, choreographer and master instructor helping both dancers and teachers at all levels.



Jessie - Bellydance (Principal Dancer, Soloist, Teacher Assistant)

Jessie has been a part of Voula's Dance Company and has studied extensively with Voula for 7 years. She has performed in all our major show productions, and took part in our Canada-Greece dancer exchange program where she performed with some of the top dancers in Greece.

Jessie has completed a three month dance term in Athens, Greece.
